This doll is so cool!! I am a nurse and I also volunteer for the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Breast Cancer Walk. The crew did a pink glove dance and the walkers loved it!! I know everyone handles their illness and recovery differently, and its okay if someone doesn't appreciate the doll. I think if it brings awareness to one person, then it has done its job.
Although I myself am blessed to have not suffered breast cancer, my sister did. She's a survivor. I find Deb a wonderful way to bring more awareness to YOUNG GIRLS! Whether or not they have a family member with breast cancer, it will resinate in her mind for HERSELF in later years! I feel you can make a SYMBOL, (not a toy) and create positive results for all those touched by this disease. You do not have to be a sufferer for it to touch you. "DEB" is for all the medical staff, families, friends, and organizations wanting to raise awareness. I am sorry that Britta feels this is an insult, for good things can and often come from bad situations. So sorry for your suffering Britta. Hope your care is going well.
Lover her...I'm a nurse and know how it is to take care of sick patients, esp with cancer. This is a great way to support breast cancer awareness.
While Deb is a nurse- she could represent any female healthcare worker who is fighting breast cancer.. Where's Ken?
My comment is for Britta who thinks this is insulting. It is definitely not insulting, it's called inspiring!!! supportive!!!! willing to raise money for those of you who have it!!! My best friend has breast cancer. She thinks anything to help raise awareness and help find a cure is wonderful!!! Remeber, out of 100% of the things that happen to ALL OF US in life, 10% we can't control BUT, 90% is HOW we react. God Bless you Britta.
I'm a breast cancer survivor and a nurse tech. My oncology nurses were wonderful and helped me make it through surgery, chemo and radiation. I admire the all dedicated and compassionate nurses who send 8 and 12 hours a day comforting and caring for patients. Glad to see a "barbie" type doll being a nurse as a positive roll model!
This donation goes to CHRISTUS St. Michaels.
I'm a breast cancer survivor and I'm insulted by this doll. Breast cancer is not fun, cool, or something to create toys about.
I like the doll because it can help comfort the person dealing with breast cancer.
