All about Comfort

When creating the ComfortEase scrubs, the developers had one thing in mind: Comfort (also a great prefix to a line’s name!) I think more than most professions, nurses rely on having durable clothing that is also comfortable, because you could be spending 12+ hours in them.

So, they created the line to be 65% Polyester and 35% Cotton. Our ComfortEase fabric offers durability, comfort and a great price. They created a variety of styles for this line including unisex styles, women’s form fitting styles, different pant types and even a dress. Browse through the 26 styles of scrubs that are available in the ComfortEase line.

And for a limited time, get 15% off your ComfortEase scrubs when you use coupon code: COMFORT. Offer ends Feb 10th, 2013.

If you are in charge of washing your own scrubs here are a few tips to follow:

1. If you have 100% Cotton, wash your scrubs with cold water. If your scrubs are mixed fabrics, then use warm water.

2. When transferring to the dryer, skip the fabric softeners as they tend to do more harm than good for specialty scrubs, such as PerforMax scrubs. Scrubs like PerforMax, have a special wicking pattern to help keep moisture away. The fabric softener actually clogs this pattern and prevents the fabric from being able to move moisture away from the body.

3. When using a dryer be sure to dry on low heat and remove from the dryer as soon as the drying cycle is complete. This will keep your scrubs looking great for longer. Alternatively you can choose to line dry your scrubs.

What tips do you have to keeping your scrubs soft & clean?

This outfit has our on-the-run nurses in mind. Most of your day is running from one area to another. You need scrubs that aren’t only comfortable and durable, you need scrubs that will help you out. PerforMAX scrubs will do just that! They are made the same way athletic clothes are made to help keep moisture away from your body keeping you cool and help sweat not become a problem. The top has long sleeve insets that fit snug to your arms. This has been approved to be used on nurses who aren’t scrubbing in for a surgery. They are also great for nurses who maybe get a little chilled throughout the day.

To match the top, we suggest the PerforMAX drawstring scrub pants. These traditional design pants are made of the same moisture-wicking fabric to keep you dry and cool.

Honoring Midwives

The profession of a midwife has been around for centuries. It was one of the first recognized female occupations in ancient Egypt. Midwives are there for women who are expecting and help them through the beginning stages, the birth of the child as well as post birth care of the mother and the child. This can be a stressful job to be able to handle women during the hardest parts of giving birth. To keep them calm and moving forward is a difficult task and midwives do an amazing job at it. We honor these strong, supportive nurses and all the hard work they do! Thank you!

As our thanks to you, we are offering 15% off** your purchase with the code: NMW12 at checkout today only! Offer ends at 11:59PM on 10/4/2012. Start shopping now!

The PerforMax long sleeve reversible top is an innovative scrub top that incorporates the material found in athletic wear on the arms. To help nurses comply with the AORN’s recommendation for non scrubbed nurses to cover their arms in restricted areas. The elastic sleeves are a welcomed alternative to warm up jackets as a way to cover up the arms.

The PerforMax top is also perfect for anyone who frequently gets chilly easily and doesn’t want to deal with the bulkiness of nursing jackets. Buy your PerforMax Long Sleeve Shirt today for just $24.99!

Dentists & dental hygienists are in close proximity with their patients. To clean their teeth you must be close and your arm pits can be exposed. Nobody wants their patients to be able to smell their body odor during a teeth cleaning appointment, so here are some tips to prevent an uncomfortable visit in the dentist’s chair.

1.) If you know you sweat more than a little bit during the day, use a clinical strength deodorant, like Secret Clinical Strength Antiperspirant

2.) Wearing an additional t-shirt or long sleeve shirt under your scrubs creates an extra barrier between your skin & the patient. See some great shirts here.

3.) If you don’t want to wear the extra layer, try scrubs that are made to move moisture away from the skin. PerforMAX™ scrubs are ideal for dentists. With multiple styles, they have the pockets in all the right places and the moisture wicking technology in the fabric keeps dentists & dental hygienists cool and dry all day long!

The showers have past, the flowers are in full bloom and the weather is finally heating up! Which means those heavier scrubs of the winter might not be the greatest at the office (unless your boss loves to keep the AC on full blast!). When picking out summer scrubs pick scrubs that are breathable (e.g. made of polyester, cotton blended materials, etc) so some air can get through the material and keep you cool. The ideal scrubs would be the high performance PerforMAX scrubs. These scrubs were influenced by athletic wear so it helps pull moisture away from the body to keep you from sweating and delays the chance of the embarrassing pit stains.

The best colors for this summer are light pastel colors that will reflect the sun and help keep you cool. Our suggestions are scrubs that are ceil blue, pink or jade.

While Nurses Day has been observed by the government since 1982, nurses nationwide have celebrated since 1953. Nurses have one of the most thankless jobs out there today. Sometimes patients don’t realize just how much goes into caring for them on a daily basis.

Nurses work longer and harder hours than many “outsiders” would ever realize. Nurses are dedicated, passionate people who want to help make as many people as possible feel better. Nurses week is a fantastic way for all the nurses to get together and appreciate what each other does on a daily basis and with a smile on their faces (most of the time). It is also a great public awareness event that reminds everyone about the nurses they have interacted with in the past and to show appreciation for them.

Scrubs 123 is proud to be a supporter of nurses everywhere. Our focus is to make the process of getting nursing scrubs easy and a little bit fun so you can stay focused on your patients and yourself. As a token of our gratitude please enjoy 20% off your purchase using the coupon code: NURSEWEEK20. Offer expires at 11:59 on Friday May 11, 2012.

Today’s veterinarians & veterinarian technicians handle lots of pets. These pets range from the dogs & cats to snakes, horses and more. It is imperative to have scrubs that are durable as well as made of material that is easily washable.

Handling animals like dogs & cats which can shed, having cotton heavy scrub will only make the hairs stick to you more. Nobody likes to to start looking like their patients! Wear scrubs that are more polyester. While polyester sounds like it might be rough and uncomfortable, there have been huge strides in the processing of polyester. Now polyester is one of the softest materials for scrubs with the same qualities of polyester. For veterinarians, we suggest getting tops & pants from our PerforMAX™ line. The scrubs are made of 100% polyester and have special wicking which allows the fabric to take moisture away from the skin which keeps the wearer dry & cool.

Additionally, veterinarians need a lab coat that can handle the daily activities in the office. For this reason we suggest the MDT12: Unisex Staff Length Lab Coat. The staff length allows you to move easily without having a long lab coat to get caught on the knee when kneeling up & down to greet the animals. This lab coat also has ample pockets for all the accessories and items that a veterinarian needs to examine their patients. This particular lab coat is made of 80% polyester/ 20% cotton. This is a good ratio when handling animals. It is easy to brush off the hair from the animals.
