All about Comfort

When creating the ComfortEase scrubs, the developers had one thing in mind: Comfort (also a great prefix to a line’s name!) I think more than most professions, nurses rely on having durable clothing that is also comfortable, because you could be spending 12+ hours in them.

So, they created the line to be 65% Polyester and 35% Cotton. Our ComfortEase fabric offers durability, comfort and a great price. They created a variety of styles for this line including unisex styles, women’s form fitting styles, different pant types and even a dress. Browse through the 26 styles of scrubs that are available in the ComfortEase line.

And for a limited time, get 15% off your ComfortEase scrubs when you use coupon code: COMFORT. Offer ends Feb 10th, 2013.

Nursing uniforms have come a long way since the traditional dress and cap of the late 1800’s. Now we have a variety of styles, colors and even fabrics to choose from. The most popular fabric is a polyester cotton blend. A vast majority of scrubs are made with these two materials. They both have qualities that are needed in the medical industry: strength and comfort.

Cotton is a soft comfortable material. It also can absorb moisture easily which can help keep your skin dry. Polyester on the other hand is extremely durable material and it is stretchy which is great since nurses have to be able to move quickly and sometimes in odd ways to get the job done! Scrub manufacturers have played around with different ratios of both these materials for optimal scrubs. The standard is 65% Cotton/ 35% Polyester. If you do sweat, or tend to get messy during your shift, this is a great blend to have. The higher cotton ratio means your scrubs will absorb more moisture away from your body. Our ComfortEase line is made with this blend. Check them out here.

If you don’t really sweat, then a higher polyester blend might work better for you. A scrub that is 55% Cotton/ 45% Polyester gives you the durability you want as well as it’s a stretchy material that allows you to move easily in the garment. Try our AngelStat line made with this poly-cotton blend!

What fabrics do you like the most for your scrubs? If you don’t know, the best way is to try different fabric type scrubs. Go to the clearance section of scrubs sites and get some scrubs that are extremely discounted. This way if you don’t like a certain fabric type, you haven’t wasted much money on it!

Soil release finishes can be found on many industrial or service garments. A soil release finish can help prevent different liquids and powders from soaking into the fabric. This makes cleaning the garment a lot easier if the stain stays on top of the garment. It does this by increasing the tension of the surface of the garment. This causes the liquid/powder that falls on the garment to to bead up and reduce the speed to which the garment absorbs the stain.

This is a fantastic technology for scrubs. If you are in a field of health care where stains are a every day occurrence, having soil release finishes can help you save more scrubs because you are able to fully remove a stain. Scrubs 123 offers a variety of Medline scrubs that come with a soil release finish. A popular scrub set would be our AngelStat Reversible V-neck top paired with our AngelStat Cargo Pants with Drawstring waist. Both are these have a soil release finish to help prevent stains. Not only are they functional, but both fit comfortably and come in a variety of colors!

With so many different body types, scrubs have come a long way from the the “one style, one color” they started off as. Now, there are perfect scrubs for every body type. Below are our tips for different body types:

Large Chested:

For ladies with a full chest, use scrubs that are one solid color and use the matching pants to go with. This will not only make you look slimmer, it will draw the eye away from the chest area. Also, make sure you wear scrubs that promote modesty. Scrubs that are a high v-neck or a crew neck are perfect for this body type. We suggest the Women’s AngelStat scrub top with a Keyhole neckline (869) matched with the straight leg, Cargo Pants with an Elastic Waist (674). Another option is the ComfortEase Tunic (8851) which has a modest v-neck line and the mock wrap. You can match this top with the ComfortEase Cargo Pants (950).

Pear Shaped

For the ladies who are pear shaped, the goal of your scrubs should be to draw the eye up towards your face. A great way of doing this is to go with neck lines that aren’t the typical v-neck or crew neck. Something like a mock wrap or keyhole neckline would draw the eye up to the face. Another idea would be to go with a printed top with dark scrub pants (like a brown or black). Our suggested scrubs for pear shaped nurses are the Suite Styles Crossover (4513) paired with the Suite Styles Low rise pants (7432S). For the print style, we suggest the Printed Tunic top (226) with the ComfortEase Reversible Pants with Drawstring (950).

Tall

For nurses who are tall, it is a battle to find scrubs that fit perfectly. Scrubs are either too long, or too short. One of the reasons is because manufacturers all have different lengths for their “tall scrubs”. It’s important to know what your inseam is so you can pick the perfect scrubs. Most retail sites also share the inseam in the product description. Another suggestion is to get scrubs that are snug to your body. Our suggested scrubs would be the ComfortEase Scrub top with 2 pockets and the ComfortEase Modern Fit Scrub Pants to get the fitted look that fits perfectly!

One of our favorite scrub pants would have to be the ComfortEase Unisex Cargo Pants with Drawstring. These pants have three pockets to carry all the daily items a nurse might have. Two of the pockets are on the sides of the scrub pants which allow for easy access, and are deep so they can carry the bulky items such as highlighters/ sharpies or treats for your well behaved patients (perfect for nurses who work in pediatrics!)

Not only do these pants have lots of space to store things, they feature a four panel construction for added durability. These scrub pants are also comprised of 65% polyester and 35% cotton to give you a comfortable pant that has minimal shrinking and the color won’t fade. These scrub pants are available in regular length and tall length (35” inseam). This pant can be paired with the 910 reversible top or the ComfortEase Women’s Tunic top (8851).

The 910 & 900 Reversible nursing scrub set is our most popular ComfortEase top and pants. ComfortEase is our softest scrub brand with a blend of polyester and cotton. By blending these two materials, we get the softness and comfort of cotton, while having the strength and durability of the polyester. The polyester also reduces the amount of shrinking that will occur.
The pants have a braided drawstring to make it easy to tie and untie the pants. They also have one large pocket in the back to store items temporarily when you need to free up your hands. The loose cut of the legs allows anyone with any body shape to find a pair that is comfortable and fit perfectly.

The top has one chest pocket, perfect for any nurse that has only a few items to carry throughout the day. It also is generously cut so that there is more room across the back. This allows you to move freely without feeling constricted by your scrubs.
Both the top and the bottom have a soil-release finish which helps keep scrubs cleaner and resist stains. They are also reversible in case you get a cut in the pocket- this way you can keep the scrubs for a little bit longer!

A: True factory direct prices.

“You get what you pay for”. It is an old saying that often enters our mind when we see prices that are lower than we expected. Thoughts of “what’s the catch”, or “there must be something wrong with it” or “the quality must be lower” can enter our minds when we are presented with exceptionally good prices. You don’t have to worry about any of these things when you buy from Scrubs123.com. You can rest assured that when you buy from Scrubs123.com you are getting exceptionally high quality products at the absolute best prices around.

But you probably are wondering “Then how do they do it – good quality products at great prices?” It is a very good question. The answer is that when you buy from Scrubs123.com you are enjoying factory direct prices. Scrubs123 is an affiliate of Medline Industries, Inc., the Nation’s largest privately held supplier of healthcare supplies. Medline literally produces MILLIONS of scrub tops and scrub pants each year in our own state of the art manufacturing facilities. We apply the same stringent quality standards to the Scrubs123 scrubs as we do to the scrubs made for hospitals, nursing homes, and other healthcare facilities across the country.

Other online retailers have to purchase scrubs from a manufacturer, and then add in their profit before they can sell it to you. Because these retailers are a “middle man” between the actual manufacturer and you, they have to charge higher prices.
